1The Quadrant is a distinctive hotel and residence in central Auckland, blending sophistication and style across 277 rooms. In close proximity to many of the city’s main attractions, The Quadrant is a great place to stay – complete with its own popular bar and restaurant once your day exploring the city is over.
2The design and development of this project offered a few challenges, including the tight fit with the Hyatt Hotel located on one side and an apartment complex on the other. The hotel’s entry is off Parliament Street, which is 8 levels above Eden Crescent on the north side of the development. Significant retaining works were required to be integrated into the project to cope with this major level change across the site – not to mention the added complexity of having to underpin the adjoining Hyatt hotel and existing apartment complex.
3It was exactly sort of challenge the engineers at Holmes Consulting love to get our teeth into. Working with a great group of partner organisations, we delivered robust, creative designs that supported the vision for the hotel: an understated, luxurious feel for guest and staff. The modern design has blended in beautifully with its close neighbours, with tower being set back from the street and connected to the low-rise front area by an air bridge.
The project has won an NZIA award, as well as a Property Council New Zealand award. Put simply, the Quadrant is a great place to stay.
