1We’ve had a great ongoing relationship with Counties Manukau District Health Board over the last 15-20 years – in fact, we’ve designed all of the major projects at Middlemore Hospital during that time. Our expert engineers and drafters have been proud to work on the Kidz First children’s hospital, the Acute Hub emergency department, Adult Medical Centre, Edmund Hillary block, the Clinical Services Building and a number of other key facilities and infrastructure elements.
2Healthcare work requires a good understanding of the industry, and the staff and patients that use facilities. Often, designs need to be mindful of the continuity of the facility, minimising construction times and disruption. To add to that, flexibility needs to be inherent in the structural solution, so that the facility can adapt to new modes of healthcare, or the changing needs of staff and patients. Our great relationship with the Counties Manukau District Health Board over nearly two decades has helped crystallise our understanding of these factors – our designs not only deliver the robust and resilient structures required, but are also empathetic to the requirements of the people who use them.
3Middlemore is a key part of the city’s health network, and an ever-evolving facility. We’re very pleased to have an ongoing role in ensuring the staff, patients and visitors have a functional, compelling environment onsite.
