We love bridges, whether it’s a huge new suspension design over one of New Zealand’s famous gorges, or the review and restoration of a heritage railway overpass. We thrive on the tough engineering challenges the country’s severe landscape throws up, and we’ve exported our bridging expertise far beyond our own shores. Wherever we deliver bridging work, our approach has the razor sharp focus on rigour and due diligence that’s set Holmes Consulting apart for decades.
We’ve built our reputation for great bridge engineering by successfully delivering the most challenging projects, where the terrain is extremely difficult or environmental protection is key. Through a thirst to continuously find new and better ways to do things, we’ve found inventive ways to economise on materials, or create systems that streamline construction processes. Underpinning that quest for creativity and innovation is a focus on quality and detail that gives our project partners confidence in the accuracy of our thinking and designs.
We’re part of the great team delivering Transmission Gully, one of New Zealand’s largest infrastructure projects ever. From a bridging point of view, this is a huge project – some of the bridges we’re working on are 200 metres long, with 100 metre drops to the floor of the gorge. The bridging team at Holmes Consulting is loving the chance to work on a project of such local and national significance.
