Back in the old days, legend has it that we actually used to own a small plane to get us around New Zealand’s regions – so it’s not surprising we’ve done our fair share of engineering in the aviation space. While we don’t have a plane anymore we’ve still got plenty of aircraft buffs, so we’re never short of volunteers when terminal, hangar or tower projects land on our plate. In fact, engineering in aviation can present some of the toughest challenges out there – so it’s work we enjoy getting stuck into.
We’ve worked on airport projects in just about all of New Zealand’s larger centres, as well as across international locations including Australia and Abu Dhabi. When hangars are in play, we’re experts creating the huge clearspan spaces needed for huge aircraft – including A380s. We understand the need for functional maintenance space in hangar design, and we’re experts in finding ways to provide it by creating strong, broad grids.
When we work airport towers, we deliver the functionality such structures demand at the same time as enabling striking designs that become defining airport features. Around plenty of airports in New Zealand and beyond, we’ve helped create immediately recognisable, memorable towers that bring personality and character to the airports they service.
