Holmes Culley wins for Presidio Seismic Retrofit

presidio-1Holmes Culley, our sister company in San Francisco,  was on the winning team for the U.S. National Historic Landmark Presidio Buildings 101 & 103.

The client is The Presidio Trust and the lead architectural designer is BAR Architects of San Francisco. The project cost $20.1M US and is LEED-Gold certified.

The innovative use of materials garnered a 2012 Preservation Design award from the California Preservation Foundation for its use of carbon fibre technology as well as the award for Craftsmanship & Technology.

The project has also won an Excellence award from the Structural Engineers Association of Northern California (SEAONC) for Historic Preservation and from the Structural Engineers of California (SEAOC) – Excellence in Historic Preservation.

Geoff Sharp, who recently returned to Holmes Consulting Group after a long stint in San Francisco was a team member on the project.
